our

history

Pastor Ishmael Wilson founded Another Level Church (ALC) on March 2, 2008 with approximately 9 adult members including our First Lady, Rochelle Wilson. Since then, God has sent many families to become a part of this great vision.

While being a great church, our infancy days did not come without some challenges.  From June-August 2008 we had to move out of the school where we started and held our 3pm services at other church establishments. In that final month, a door of blessings opened and we moved into the Country Inn and Suites in Capitol Heights, Md. Still holding strong to the vision which God had given to Pastor Wilson, a permanent door was finally opened for the ministry. On January 18, 2009, Pastor Ishmael led the congregation to 8839 Walker Mill Road where we acquired and renovated two warehouse buildings, turning them into one multi-technological facility which now houses 3 offices and a sanctuary that seats 100.

With a strong witness from God and staying true to the vision of the ministry, in September 2010, Another Level Church acquired its third building and named it Another Level Church Empowerment Center. Here, it is our joy to offer free tutoring and meals and provide training in life skills development primarily for, but not limited to, the Capitol Heights community.  On November 13, 2010, we were honored to have the Mayor of Capitol Heights, The Honorable Kito James, participate in our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. In September 2011, Another Level Church acquired its fourth building and opened Another Level Dry Cleaners. Later on that year, Pastor Ishmael Wilson was named the Chaplain of the Capitol Heights Police Department.  Stay tuned and connected! Our history is still being written!
